well, i finally found myself a *working* iBook this afternoon.  I have no idea how to find the spcs on it, but i think it's 800mhz with 256mb of ram...

to tell you the truth, i don't even know if this matters anymore.  from what i can understand thus far, it kinda gets laggy if i firefup firefox and thunderbird at the same time, and it goes right to sleep when i close the ocver, but takes a little while to come back (kinda irritating).

software is surprisingly easy to install (have yet to uninstall it), and iTunes doesn't seem to pick up my PM iTunes library.  i guess i'll post more as i find out...

just read an interesting story on what internet cafe's in japan have turned into.

It definately says alot about what the internet has done/is doing/will do to common culture around the world. at first i'd imagined a race of people constantly connected to news feeds and locked up in their little dark rooms, but using it as a third party for common conversation is a brilliant example of humanity leaking between the circuits and wires.

it gives me hope.
